Designing a clinical-grade rehabilitation product where accessible UX/UI, clinical expertise and measurable cognitive outcomes come together.
(Leadership)
I led the UI design and directed the UX and research work across multiple product iterations, working closely with UX team, clinicians, therapists and the ML/AI team. The project involved dozens of specialists over more than a three year, requiring design decisions to balance clinical requirements, accessibility, technical constraints and patient needs.
(Research)
I started by studying the rehabilitation process directly with clinicians and therapists, mapping cognitive exercises into a digital experience for people with motor and cognitive limitations. Research focused on how patients understand instructions, recognise actions and navigate exercises independently, with continuous testing informing subsequent iterations.
(Experiment)
I built and iterated an accessible design system around the physical and cognitive limitations of stroke survivors, using larger touch targets, clear hierarchy and strong visual cues. Multiple product iterations were tested with patients and specialists while working alongside the clinical and ML/AI teams to refine both the experience and the underlying product flows.
