A high-performance digital experience designed to turn an exceptional Arctic destination into a clearer, more intuitive booking journey.
A digital experience designed to balance immersive storytelling, clear user journeys and high-performance product design.
(Research)
The project started with a deep audit of the existing website, focusing on its information architecture, content hierarchy, navigation and key user journeys.
The existing experience had strong photography and plenty of information, but the content was not structured clearly enough. On mobile, where most visitors were discovering the destination, this became particularly important.
The goal was not to simply make the website look better. It was to make the experience easier to understand and create clearer paths from discovery to action.
The main priorities were:
simplify the information architecture
make the accommodation and experiences easier to understand
communicate the strongest selling points earlier
create clearer navigation and user journeys
design mobile as a primary experience
use photography as part of the product experience
create a foundation that could support better conversion and performance
(Impact)
I was the sole lead designer on the project, working directly with Lyngen North and alongside Pagepro on the development.
My role covered the complete design process:
UX audit → Information Architecture → Branding Workshop → Full Branding → User Flows → Wireframes → UI Design → Responsive Design → Prototyping → Design QA → Post-launch Optimisation
The work required balancing three different perspectives: the client’s business goals, the user’s need for clarity and inspiration, and the technical requirements of a high-performance, image-heavy website.
I worked closely with the development team on the preparation and implementation of visual assets, including image dimensions, formats, compression and responsive variants. The goal was to make every asset serve a purpose without adding unnecessary weight to the experience.
This was combined with a modern Jamstack architecture and headless CMS, creating a technical foundation designed around speed, flexibility and SEO.
The collaboration continued beyond Lyngen North, with the client approaching me directly to design the digital experience for Fiskecamp.
(Experiment)
After launch, I continued testing and refining the experience based on real-world usage.
I optimised layouts, responsive behaviour, content hierarchy and visual assets, working closely with development to remove friction without compromising the visual quality of the experience.
Performance was treated as part of the design process, not a separate technical task.
